Hollywood legend Omar Sharif battling Alzheimer's Disease
Veteran Hollywood actor Omar Sharif, best known for his role in the Oscar-winning film as Doctor Zhivago, is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, his agent has said.
The 83-year-old acting legend, whose films also include 'Lawrence of Arabia' and 'Funny Girl' opposite Barbra Streisand, is being cared for by his son Tarek.
Sharif, who was born in Alexandria in Egypt, also won international fame and an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor for his role in the 1962 film 'Lawrence of Arabia' with Peter O'Toole.
