British tourist dies in Thai hotel just days into dream holiday with partner
A British tourist has been found dead in a hotel swimming pool while on a dream holiday in the Far East with her partner.
The body of Rachel Turner Brown, aged 42, from Wolverhampton, was reportedly found in a swimming pool at a hotel on Ko Chang island, Thailand, yesterday.
They had travelled to the island via ferry from Bangkok the previous day.
Her partner has said he is in "absolute tatters" after a hotel clerk woke him to break the news.
Reports in local media suggest she had gone for a midnight swim, and was found early the following morning.
Posting to his Facebook page, Stef Brown thanked friends for their messages of condolence.
According to messages posted on social media, the couple were at the beginning of a seven-week tour across Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam when tragedy struck.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed they were aware of Ms Turner Brown's death.
