New Manchester United signing Depay reveals best position
There's been much debate on how Louis Van Gaal will fit new £25m signing Memphis Depay into his side next season.
A host of attacking players are available to Van Gaal at Old Trafford and Depay has given him further selection problems by saying that he'd prefer to play as a wide-man when he joins the Red Devils.
The Dutch winger, speaking to ITV Sport in London, says that left-wing is his favourite position - putting him in direct competition with record-signing Angel Di Maria.
"Of course I have a favourite position - the left wing - but I feel free as my trainer right now has given me freedom to play how I want."
"I like my position at PSV as left winger but I can play also on the right or in the middle as a number 10 behind the striker."
Depay has scored 28 goals at PSV this season - drawing comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo, especially in the way he strikes his free-kicks.
"I heard people spoke about it and obviously that's great. He's a big hero for me. I'm still only 21 and one day I hope I can reach the level of Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Of course, everybody knows Ronaldo and you watch his free-kicks and you enjoy it, so you learn from it. Free-kicks is extra work and I don't try to do the same but I try do it on my own way.
"I have to work harder and harder to achieve my goal of becoming the best in the world."
