Primary school sends heartwarming letter to pupils reminding them how special they are ahead of exams
A school has sent a heartwarming letter to every single one of its year six pupils ahead of their Sats tests, assuring them that exam results do not reflect how "special and unique" they are.
Inspired by a letter written by American Mary Ginley, teachers at Buckton Vale Primary School in Stalybridge, Chesire decided to remind their students that there were "many ways of being smart" and that exams do not "test all of the amazing and awesome things that make you, YOU!"
Since the letter was posted on the school's Facebook page, it has been shared more than 58,000 times and liked by nearly 48,000 users.

Parents praised the letter as "heartwarming", saying every school should give pupils the same message.
Commenting on the post, Tracey Collins said: "Thank you Buckton Vale primary school, I've just let my daughter in year 6 read this, her response was 'thank you, I feel a bit better now'."
Brian Ji Symons wrote: "That is awesome, I hope that all schools do this - it would make every child feel smart and important."
It is not the first time a school has used Ms Ginley's letter as a way of inspiring pupils.
Last year, Barrowford Primary School sent a letter to pupils to accompany their exam results.
