Video footage showing Prince Harry taking part in various exercises while on a month-long attachment with the Australian army has been released by the Australian Defence Department.

During his time in Australia, Harry took part in training on helicopter simulators at barracks in Sydney, as well as live fire exercises in Perth with a variety of special forces weapons.

Captain Harry Wales, as he is known in the British Army, spent four weeks embedded with a number of Australian army units and regiments in Darwin, Perth and Sydney.

While in Australia the Prince has also been warmly received by the public.

Prince Harry has now arrived in New Zealand for a week-long visit that will take him to one of the country's most remote islands - Stewart Island, with a population of just 378.

He was greeted by Prime Minister John Key and other dignitaries when his plane landed today in Wellington.
