The DJ Chris Evans has hit out at British Airways on Twitter after he was apparently not allowed onto a flight he claims he had a ticket for.

Over a series of tweets sent yesterday afternoon, the radio presenter expressed frustration at his situation. He told fans he had been in Nice, and seemed concerned that he wouldn't make it back to the UK in time to be on air for his usual job helming Radio 2's Breakfast Show.

After apparently discovering that he had been bumped from his first flight, and that it would be "highly unlikely" that he'd get onto the next one, he eventually had a stroke of luck after another customer didn't turn up

Showing that he wasn't too put out by his ordeal, he signed off with a little joke at BA's expense.

In a statement, British Airways said: "We are very sorry that some of our customers were delayed after we had to transfer them onto a slightly later flight. They returned to Heathrow Airport last night, an hour later than originally planned."
