Two giants of European football begin their battle for a spot in this year's Champions League final live on ITV tonight.

Holders Real Madrid travel to newly-crowned Italian champions Juventus for the semi-final first leg with both sides buoyed by domestic victories at the weekend.

Arturo Vidal's goal was enough to secure a 31st scudetto for Juventus at Sampdoria on Saturday, while Cristiano Ronaldo's impressive hat-trick against Sevilla kept Madrid's hopes of catching Barcelona alive.

While both teams have sparkled in Europe this season, one imagines that Juventus, who narrowly edged past Monaco in the quarter-finals, will need to move through the gears in order to reach the final.
