Jeremy Clarkson told by doctor lump was 'probably cancer'

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has spoken of his cancer scare - just two days before the fracas which led to him being dropped from the show.

Writing in his Sunday Times column, Clarkson said:

The 55-year-old has now been given the all clear.

Clarkson was axed from the show in March after he attacked producer Mr Tymon, splitting his lip and verbally abusing him.

The presenter said the incident came on the "most stressful day" he had ever had in "27 years at the BBC".

"It was beyond-belief stressful, everything was going wrong, and then you know . . . there you go. But everybody has stressful days, and they manage to cope better than I did."

Clarkson said he will create another car show after losing his "baby" when he was dropped.

"I have lost my baby but I shall create another," he wrote.

"I don't know who the other parent will be or what the baby will look like, but I cannot sit around any more organising my photograph album."

Speaking about thee break-up of his marriage and death of his mother, he added: “I felt sick because after I’d lost my home and my mother, I’d thrown myself even more vigorously into my job, and now, idiotically, I’d managed to lose that too.”
