Michael Buble criticised as 'disgusting' for posting 'humiliating' photo of woman's bottom
Michael Buble has been criticised as "disgusting" for posting a picture of a woman wearing tight shorts using the hashtag #beautifulbum.
The Canadian singer faced a backlash after sharing a picture, taken by his wife, featuring an unidentified woman's bottom while in Miami, telling fans: "There was something about this photo lu took ,that seemed worthy of instagram."
Fans accused him of "humiliating" and "body shaming" the stranger, while others said they had "lost all respect" for the 39-year-old.
Buble hit back at criticism of the photo, saying it was intended to be "complimentary and lighthearted".
The father-of-one, who has had hits including Haven't Met You Yet, said he was "deeply" hurt by accusations that he had disrespected women.
He wrote in a post: "I was not brought up that way and it is not in my character. I regret that there are people out there who found the photo offensive. That was not and is not my intention."
"Women are to be celebrated, loved, respected, honoured and revered. I've spent my life believing that and will continue to do so."
Despite the criticism, the singer has not deleted the controversial post.
