Zayn Malik makes first solo appearance at Asian Awards in London
Zayn Malik took his mum for a bit of moral support as he made his first solo appearance at the Annual Asian Awards in London.
Malik took a step in a new direction as he debuted a shaved head hairdo, he had been famous for his lush locks.
Zayn, 22, announced last month he was to leave boy band super-group One Direction to live a “normal life”.
He refused to answer questions on the red carpet but spent time signing autographs for fans.
After he entered the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, a tussle broke out among the crowd of fans as they argued about his new hair style.
The former 1D star is rumoured to be making an announcement about his solo music career, after being spotted at a studio with producer Naughty Boy.
Shortly after Malik quit One Direction, Naughty Boy posted online a demo of song 'I Won't Mind', featuring Malik's vocals, but he deleted it 12 hours later.
