Restaurant owner offers free meal to person who goes through her bins for food
A restaurant owner has been praised for offering a free meal to the person who keeps searching through her bins to find food.
Ashley Jiron, the owner of PB Jams in Warr Acres, Oklahoma, said she was heartbroken to discover torn rubbish bags with food missing outside her restaurant last week.
She decided to post a sign urging whoever was taking the food to come in for a free meal, because "you're a human being and worth more than a meal from a dumpster".
“I had gone to the back to go put some trash in the dumpster, and I had noticed that some bags and containers with food were emptied and gone through,” Ms Jiron told ABC News.
“Unfortunately, I was not able to see that person or have the chance to talk to them or invite them in, so I thought that leaving a note might do the trick for me and get them in for me."
Unsurprisingly, Ms Jiron's act of kindness won her praise on social media.
The 30-year-old insists she will not take the sign down until the person comes into the diner, which serves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Among its speciality dishes, is the "Donut touch my nuts" which puts peanut butter, jelly and bacon between two Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
