Clarke Carlisle 'thinks and prays' for lorry driver he jumped in front of 'every day'
Clarke Carlisle "thinks about and prays for" the lorry driver he jumped in front in December every day.
The footballer turned pundit spent six weeks in hospital following the incident on the A64 in North Yorkshire when he attempted to take his own life as he battled depression.
Speaking to Good Morning Britain today, Carlisle said:
The 35 year-old revealed he has unsuccessfully tried to reach out to lorry driver, Darren Pease, who confessed earlier this month that the incident had left him with "flashbacks" he cannot escape.
Carlisle has been battling depression for 15 years having once tried to take his own life in 2001, when the former defender turned to heavy drinking and gambling following a serious injury.
He has urged anyone suffering from depression to speak out and is setting up the 'Clarke Carlisle Foundation' specifically for dual diagnosis sufferers who may struggle with two conditions at the same time, such as addiction and depression.
