The compound of the Yemeni president is being looted as Houthi militia forces advance on Aden.

Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi had earlier left the compound for a different presidential palace in the city.

The United states has called on Houthi forces to stop fomenting instability in the country.

The Iranian-backed militants took control of the capital Sanaa in September and have been advancing on Aden.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia says its military buildup near its southern border with Yemen is purely defensive.
