James Corden has made his highly-anticipated debut as the new host of The Late Late Show and managed to get the scoop on Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher's are-they-or-aren't they marriage.

Watch the moment Mila Kunis reveals all:

The Gavin And Stacey star was also joined by Hollywood legend Tom Hanks, who helped persuade Friends With Benefits star Kunis to open up about her relationship with Kutcher.

Asked by Corden if the pair had tied the knot, she replied: "I don't know, maybe."

Prompted by gestures from Hanks, Corden inspected the huge ring on Kunis' left hand and declared, "Oh you got married! They got married everyone! Oh my God, Mr and Mrs Kutcher!"

Corden took to Twitter to thank people for their "truly lovely messages" about his debut on the show.

The first episode also featured pre-recorded cameos from Oscar winner Meryl Streep, former late night talk show host Jay Leno and The West Wing actress Allison Janney.

Corden, 36, taped the show the day before the broadcast in front of a live audience at CBS Studios in Los Angeles.

He has already admitted taking on the show is a gamble but maintains his humour can work across the pond, saying: "If it's good it travels." He told CBS News: "There's a weird thing with us in Britain that we would go, 'Oh, will this work in America?' No one in American is ever going, 'I wonder if this'll work in Britain!"'

He has professed to feeling like "the luckiest man on earth" for landing the prestigious gig, but admitted apprehension as to how his presenting style will be received.
