'Replace Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson with Alan Partridge' petition hits 30,000 signatures
A petition calling for the fictional character of Alan Partridge to replace Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear has hit 30,000 signatures.
The character played by Steve Coogan, is said to be ideal to replace Jeremy Clarkson, who was suspended following a "fracas" with a producer.
The petition is called 'Hire Alan Partridge for Top Gear'.
The BBC has said its report into Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson will be handed over to the director-general next week.
