Victoria Beckham backs Sir Elton John in Dolce and Gabbana row
Victoria Beckham is the latest celebrity to have given her support to Sir Elton John after he called for a boycott of designers Dolce and Gabbana over comments the pair made about IVF.
It comes after the designers called children born through IVF "synthetic" and spoke out against gay families - saying "the only family is the traditional one".
Sir Elton, who is married to David Furnish, responded on Instagram, writing: "How dare you refer to my beautiful children as "synthetic".
"And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF - a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children.
"Your archaic thinking is out of step with the the times, just like your fashions.
"I shall never wear Dolce and Gabanna ever again. #BoycottDolceGabanna.
Stefano Gabbana has since said that "it was never our intention to judge other people's choices."
"We do believe in freedom and love," he added in a statement.
But celebrities have tweeted their support at Sir Elton.
Beckham tweeted: 'Sending love to Elton David Zachary Elijah & all the beautiful IVF babies x vb'
Ricky Martin and Courtney Love along with Ryan Murphy, the creator of Nip Tuck and Glee, have also tweeted their support for Sir Elton.
