Harris hawks stolen during break-in at bird of prey sanctuary

Police are investigating the theft of two Harris hawks from a bird of prey centre in Scotland.

Staff at Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre discovered the break-in during a routine check on the birds on Tuesday morning.

The theft happened between 5pm on Monday and around 9.30am on Tuesday.

Wildlife crime liaison officer PC Andrew Crawford said detectives are carrying out inquiries in the local area.

The centre, north west of Glasgow at Loch Lomond Shores in Balloch, has more than 30 birds of prey from more than 20 species.
