Prince follows in mother's footsteps in war graves visit

The Duke of Cambridge followed in his mother's footsteps today as he visited Commonwealth war graves on the first full day of his Japan visit.

Those buried at the cemetery in Yokohama were prisoners of war from Singapore killed in allied bombardments.

Princess Diana visited the cemetery, which is west of Tokyo, on her first full day of a four-day visit to Japan in 1995.

A picture of Diana with the note 'May she rest in peace' has been placed at the cemetery.

Prince William signed the visitor book, which was signed by his mother during her 1995 visit.
