Low pressure set to bring more wet and windy weather for the weekend
This weekend the weather will remain unsettled as low pressure takes control through Saturday, bringing a period of wet and windy conditions across the UK.
During the evening time outbreaks of rain will spread in from the west with strong winds developing across most areas. The strongest winds will be in the south where they are likely to touch gale force, especially around the coast overnight into Sunday.
In the north and west of Britain colder air will turn some of the rain or showers sleety at some lower levels, with snow likely over the high ground in Scotland. In these areas it will bring the risk of icy stretches by night.
On Sunday the bulk of the rain would have cleared away eastwards by late morning, although further showers and breezy conditions will push into Scotland and N. Ireland. Across much of England and Wales it'll become largely dry with sunny spells.
