Scotland Yard has said it would "examine" the footage showing Chelsea fans preventing a black man boarding a Paris Metro train "with a view to seeing if we can apply for football banning orders".

The news comes shorty after the football club itself condemned the group of supporters apparently caught on camera pushing a black man off the Paris Métro and singing racist songs.

The video, given to The Guardian, shows the man repeatedly trying to board the busy train at the Richelieu-Drouot station, before the club's one-all draw against Paris Saint-Germain yesterday.

But the video shows the fans stopping him from getting on, and then roughly pushing him back off when he tries to force his way on board.

The group can then be heard chanting.

British expat Paul Nolan, who filmed the clip, told ITV he and other bystanders had been "shocked" by what he had seen.

He also said the fans were acting like "bouncers" by not letting people on the train.

In a statement to the paper, Chelsea said it would support criminal action against anyone involved.

The Met Police have also released a full statement insisting they are working with local law enforcement and Chelsea.
