Previously unseen footage of Bob Marley in concert has been released to mark the Jamaican singer's 70th birthday.

The clip, shot by a fan, features performances from two historic shows in Boston's Music Hall in June 1978, and is interspersed with new animations - filling the gaps when the cameraman was changing reels.

It comes after the Marley family gave unprecedented access to personal materials from their vaults, and will feature on Bob Marley and The Wailers - Easy Skanking in Boston '78, a new CD/DVD/Blu-Ray release.

A host of other releases are due to follow as the family mark the anniversary, with deluxe editions of his most memorable albums overseen by the estate.

Marley - a political and musical icon to this day - died in Miami in May 1981 after battling cancer. He was aged just 36.
