Meet Eclipse: The black Labrador who takes the bus on her own to the dog park
A black Labrador has amazed commuters by riding the bus on her own to the local dog park.
The two-year-old dog, named Eclipse, has been boarding the bus alone near her home in the Seattle neighbourhood of Belltown for the past few weeks.
On her four-stop journey to the dog park Eclipse can be seen wandering the aisles and getting to know the other passengers.
Local Miles Montgomery said he was riding the bus last week when he noticed a black Labrador in the aisle, eyeing the empty seat next to him.
"She jumps up and sits down, and I start petting her and the guy beside me says, 'Oh yeah, that's that dog that rides the bus to the dog park every day, by herself,'" Montgomery said.
"She sits here just like a person does. She is a person," another passenger told Reuters.
Eclipse's owner, Jeff Young, told local broadcaster KOMO he is fine with her independent streak.
"Probably once a week I get a phone call. 'Hi, I have your dog Eclipse here ...' I have to tell them, 'No, she's fine'."
