Police hope fried egg will solve shed break-in mystery
Police trying to crack a crime in Cornwall have found an unusual clue in their hunt for the culprit, after a fried egg was left at the scene.
Isles of Scilly Police posted a picture of the suspicious breakfast staple, which was found outside a shed that had been broken into.
The police officer pictured appears to maintain a safe distance from the egg, presumably not wanting to tamper with a crime scene.
The force said it was likely that the shed - owned by a local football club - had been forced open by people keen for a kickabout.
Whoever was responsible was promised an "amicable resolution" if they admitted the act - though they may be left with a little egg on face.
