Princess Anne's rare prized pig killed by wild boar
The Princess Royal's prize pig has been killed by a wild boar that got into its pen at her Gloucestershire farm Gatcombe Park.
The 64-year-old told the Oxford Farming Conference that her Gloucestershire Old Spot boar was killed on Tuesday night, the Western Morning News reported.
"We had a visit last night on our farm from a wild boar," She told delegates. "My Gloucester Old Spot boar is no longer with us as a result."
The rare English breed of pig - a favourite of the princess - is known for its docility and intelligence.
The Princess Royal, a keen farmer, is patron of the Gloucester Old Spot Pigs Breeders Club.
The attack happened a day after a boar caused a crash which killed a man on the M4, not far from Anne's home.
