Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted she has thought about whether she was right to "consciously uncouple" from Chris Martin but said they are now well and truly in the friend zone.

The Hollywood star spoke to Harper's Bazaar about her relationship with the Coldplay frontman, from whom she split in March this year after 10 years of marriage.

The pair famously used the much-mocked phrase to describe their break-up in a statement on the actress's website, going on to say that they would continue to "co-parent" their two children, Apple and Moses.

In an interview with the magazine, Paltrow said:

And she hit out at those who "twist words".

She said:

The couple, who married in December 2003, have two children together - daughter Apple, nine, and seven-year-old son Moses.

For many years they were based in London, where the children went to school, but then uprooted to Los Angeles last year, where Paltrow still lives.

The full interview will appear in the February issue of Harper's Bazaar.
