The earliest sci-fi movie ever filmed in Britain has been restored after painstaking work from film experts at the British Film Institute.

It means the film can now be watched for the first time in more than 100 years.

'A Message from Mars' is a riff on the Dickens classic 'A Christmas Carol', with a well-meaning Martian descending to Earth to mend a miser's ways.

ITV News Correspondent Richard Pallot reports.
