The Who's Roger Daltrey performs surprise gig at couple's wedding reception

A newly-married couple were left stunned when The Who's Roger Daltrey performed a surprise gig at their wedding reception.

Susan and Carl Smith had booked local band Milestone for their reception at Mar Hall Resort in Glasgow on Saturday, but the iconic band's frontman was also staying at the same venue ahead of his own gig.

After congratulating the bride and groom, the 70-year-old rock singer asked the band if he could perform with them.

He sang I Can't Explain to the delight of Mr and Mrs Smith, guests and wedding photographer Neil Thomas Douglas, who captured the moment Daltrey serenaded the couple.

The band admitted that they did not usually cover any of the band's songs and had to "busk our way through the performance".
