Arthur was once a stray dog living in Ecuador. But now he's found a better home in Sweden after joining an endurance team on their adventures.

He first approached the group when they opened a can of meatballs and they soon found they couldn't shake him off.

So he ended up trekking 430 miles with them through as part of the Adventure Racing World Championships.

At one point Arthur got stuck in the mud and the team had to pull him out.

Now he's been adopted by Mikael Lindford, who first fed him.

On the team's Facebook page Lindford spoke of his joy when the Swedish authorities approved Arthur's adoption.

"I almost cried in front of the computer," he said.

"I came to Ecuador to win the World Championship. Instead, I got a new friend."
