Gemma Collins has spoken to Good Morning Britain about her reasons for leaving I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here as she landed back in the UK.

Collins said she left the show because of suppressed trauma and injuries from "something really bad" that happened to her 24 hours before she entered the jungle.

The TOWIE star was coy about what the incident which had lead to the trauma was.

She said she had "injuries to my head and all over my body" but had not wanted to let anyone down as it was "such a massive opportunity".

Essex girl Gemma left the jungle after just three days after she had struggled to adjust to jungle life from the start of the show.

The TOWIE star had previously told the Sun newspaper a "personal and very serious incident" had affected her far more than she thought and she was "just not as strong as I thought".

This series of I'm A Celebrity... lost two contestants in quick succession. After Gemma walked out, actor Craig Charles received the bad news his brother had died of a heart attack and decided he was needed more at home.

Daniella Westbrook, Katie Price, Brian Harvey, Natalie Appleton, former Sex Pistol John Lydon and band manager Malcolm McLaren all left the jungle early in previous series.
