Gemma Collins has threatened to leave I'm A Celebrity Get Out Of Here! over the lack of food and fears she may not be able to cope with "this jungle lark".

The 33-year-old star of The Only Way Is Essex broke down in tears before she even entered the jungle after suffering a panic attack on a helicopter.

She told the helicopter pilot: "Can you stop a minute please, I'm serious just stop, I need to get out, seriously I'm going to be sick, I can't do it, no way."

After leaving the helicopter, Collins said: "I got into the chopper and suddenly felt very scared but thought I can't show anyone I'm scared, but I cried like a baby and I don't think I'm going to be able to do this jungle lark."

She was part of a group of five celebrities, including former World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty and Coronation Street's Craig Charles, who were taken to the "Celebrity Slammer" while other contestants enjoyed one final night of luxury.

After learning that she would be eating nothing but porridge in the immediate future, Collins hinted that she may quit the show.

"I'm leaving. We're in the slammer and I need some decent food, I can't eat porridge ever again, I'm going to die," she told her fellow campmates.

"If they don't give us a treat, I'm going to kill myself.

"I'd give anything for a bit of dried fruit, I'm not even asking for a ham sandwich with a pack of Quavers on the side, just some dried fruit."

Her fellow Towie stars voiced their support for the 33-year-old.after her early struggles.

Broadcaster Michael Buerk, TV presenter Melanie Sykes, actress Vicki Michelle and ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard are among the other celebrities to enter the jungle.

Former Conservative minister Edwina Currie is expected to join the celebrities as a late arrival in the jungle.
