The video for the Band Aid 30 single has been premiered on ITV's The X Factor - with Sir Bob Geldof issuing an emotional plea to the public to buy the single.

The video features a powerful introduction, showing an Ebola victim being carried from her home by workers in protective suits.

A short segment of the video is shown below (please note the opening moments upsetting contain upsetting images).

It is then followed by singing from One Direction, Rita Ora, Ed Sheeran and, of course, Bono - among many other famous faces.

Geldof warned viewers that they may find the footage upsetting, but said it showed the "context" behind the single - which will raise money to fight the crisis.

He called Ebola "the most anti-human disease" and said it could soon be a British family affected by the virus.
