Music stars including One Direction, Rita Ora, Adele and Coldplay, will hit the studio today to record the 30th anniversary Band Aid single.

The festive hit Do They Know It's Christmas? will be given a makeover with the focus this year on helping combat the deadly Ebola virus.

Other acts performing on the track are Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande, Sam Smith, Olly Murs, and Bono, who has sung on every version of the song.

In an incredible turnaround, the song will get its first air on Sunday night's X Factor show ahead of its release on Monday.

Band Aid founder Sir Bob Geldof said of the track: "It really doesn't matter if you don't like this song. It really doesn't matter if you don't like the artists, it really doesn't matter if it turns out to be a lousy recording - what you have to do is buy this thing."
