Business chief calls for a tunnel underneath Stonehenge
The head of Britain's biggest business group is calling for the Government to revive plans to build a road tunnel under Stonehenge.
John Cridland of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) says it is "vital" to ease congestion on the busy A303, which runs from Devon to the town of Basingstoke in Hampshire.
"The most significant barrier is Stonehenge. You obviously can't move it, so why not go under it?" he said.
The plans were first mooted seven years ago but were dropped due to being too expensive.
However the proposals are now being considered by a working group that is looking at how to reduce traffic on the A303.
Chancellor George Osborne is also expected to make an announcement about upgrading the whole of the road in his upcoming Autumn Statement.
