Ebola orphans 'left abandoned' in west Africa
Orphans of Ebola victims in west Africa are being left abandoned by their own families because they are so scared of catching the disease, experts have said.
According to Unicef there are now 3,700 children in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone who have lost one or both parents to the deadly virus.
Relief agencies are now having to take care of many of the orphans at provisional care centres.
The chief executive of Save the Children, Justin Forsyth, said that the "traditional safety threat of community support is under threat" from the outbreak.
According to Jane Moyo from charity ActoinAid, the key to removing the "stigma" attached to the disease is "genuine, honest dialogue" with affected communities.
