Air New Zealand safety video is set in Middle Earth
Air New Zealand has just launched what it describes as the "most epic safety video ever made".
The video begins with two Lord of the Rings geeks rushing to make their flight before realising they are sitting next to actor Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in the film trilogy.
As the safety video begins, the passengers are transported to Middle Earth where they are welcomed by an elf wearing Air New Zealand livery.
The video also features orcs in oxygen masks, Gandalf the Grey adopting the brace position and a dwarf advising that "your nearest exit might be behind you".
Other Lords of the Rings and Hobbit stars who make an appearance include director Sir Peter Jackson and actors Sylvester McCoy, Dean O'Gorman and Sir Richard Taylor.
Air New Zealand said the video was launched to celebrate the third and final installment in The Hobbit trilogy, which is due to be released in the UK on 12th December.
