Children's TV favourite Bob the Builder has undergone a dramatic makeover - but not everyone is happy about it.

After 16 years, producers decided the cult character needed a fresh look and voice ahead of a new series next year.

But the majority of the fans voiced their anger at the change on social media.

The new Bob will be voiced by actor Lee Ingleby, who is starring in BBC1 drama Our Zoo.

He takes over from Neil Morrissey, who played the handyman from his launch a decade and a half ago.

Also joining the series when it airs next year will be Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt - playing Bob's business partner Wendy - and Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison who voices the digger Scoop.
