Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has described the amount of money he was paid for the hugely popular film franchise as "kind of ridiculous."

The actor, who played Ron Weasley in the hit films alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, admitted he did not know exactly how much he had been paid.

Grint said he "loved" being a part of Harry Potter and that it has been "weird" since it finished.

Grint said the film series was a "huge part" of his life, and while it caused him to lose a few friends, "On the whole it's been pretty good".

"It's been weird since Potter finished, adapting to life now. It was such a huge part of us," he said, adding, "For now I am just enjoying being free."
