57-stone man determined to lose weight defies negative comments with Facebook videos of his workout

An extremely obese man determined to lose weight has become an internet hit after posting on Facebook inspirational videos of his workout routines.

Larry Evans, from St Louis, Missouri says he weighed 800 lbs (57 stone) before hitting the gym but is now down to under 650 lbs (46 stone).

He says he is committed to losing body fat in order to stay alive.

His considerable size has attracted a number a detractors on Facebook, but a defiant Mr Evans, writing in the caption of his latest video, said: "Please don't judge me. If you don't have nothing to say nice keep it to yourself. Get up get out and do something."

His bench-press video has had 10 million views in under two days.

The comments under the video were then filled with heartwarming messages of support from Facebook users inspired by Larry's determination:

Another video, which shows a clearly exhausted Larry attack the exercise bike, was also inundated with comments like: "Way to go Larry! Doing great!"

And on a video of Larry a pull-down machine, Larry writes: "Get up get out and do something. I did."

"Much respect! You can do it!" came the comments.

Larry's 30,000 (and counting) Facebook followers will be keeping a close eye on his progress as he attempts to shed his unwanted weight.
