US news anchor reveals on air he only has 4-6 months to live

A US news anchor has told viewers he only has four to six months to live on air, after he was informed that his brain tumour was too large for surgery or radiation.

Dave Benton, journalist with Illinois's WCIA discussed his cancer in a frank conversation with co-presenter Jennifer Roscoe.

Benton said: "I’ve decided to do an antibody treatment and some chemo to try to slow its growth. That’s my best option.”

Benton is said to have a wife and two children. He has worked at the television station for nine years.
