New European Council leader could be 'very important' for Cameron
By ITV News Political Correspondent Carl Dinnen
The new president of the European Council is Donald Tusk, the Polish prime minister.
He comes from outside the Euro zone, he's economically liberal and he will certainly take a hard line with Russia.
But most importantly for Britain, he is open to the kind of reforms that David Cameron wants to see.
In fact, he said it would be one of his priorities to address Britain's concerns over the way the EU is run.
He said, he couldn't imagine a European Union without Britain in it and in that respect he could be very good news for Mr Cameron tonight.
