In pictures: Victorious Peshmerga troops after battle for Mosul Dam

An ITV News team at Mosul Dam was with victorious Kurdish Peshmerga fighters at the complex earlier today.

One image shows ITV News Diplomatic Correspondent John Ray talking to a Kurdish Peshmerga soldier carrying a tattered Islamic State flag.

Other images show some of the damage caused during the "ferocious" battle between the Kurds - supported by US air power - and Islamic State militants to recapture the dam.

Further tweets show Kurdish soldiers carrying an Improvised Explosive Device they disarmed near the dam. Officers told ITV news that Jihadists planted "dozens" of these booby traps all over the area.
