Robin Williams' daughter leaves social media after receiving abuse

Robin Williams' daughter has left social media after receiving abusive messages - including images of photoshopped images of her father's body - in the wake of his death.

Zelda Williams, 25, said she had taken the decision to remove social media applications from her phone and other devices before deciding whether to delete her accounts.

Ms Williams received photoshopped photographs of her father's body, entertainment site Just Jared reported.

In a tweet, which has since been deleted, she pleaded with her 170,000 followers to report two users who had sent her the images and abusive messages, saying she was "shaking".

She later posted a statement on her Instagram page, claiming people were "judging her" on the number of photos she had posted of her with her late father.

She posted a heartbreaking message from The Little Prince in tribute to her father, who was found dead at his home in California on Monday.

Barack Obama was among the high-profile figures to pay tribute to the actor and comedian following his death, describing the 63-year-old as "one of a kind".
