An RAF parachutist with the Falcons display team missed his drop zone at an air show in Weston-super-Mare today, landing directly on a burger van surrounded by crowds of spectators.

An 82-year-old woman was hurt during the collision at around 1:20pm and was airlifted to hospital along with the parachutist, who suffered minor injuries and was later discharged.

The woman has a suspected fractured pelvis, according to the South Western Ambulance Trust and is in a stable condition.

The show continued after the incident.
