Sum 41 star releases shocking pictures after his liver and kidneys collapse due to alcoholism

Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has revealed that years of alcohol abuse led his liver and kidneys to suddenly collapse.

The 34-year-old singer, who was briefly married to fellow Canadian rocker Avril Lavigne in 2007, revealed his shocking descent into ill health in a blog post entitled Rock Bottom that shows pictures of him in hospital.

The In Too Deep star admitted he was "drinking hard every day" and said he was sitting down to watch a film with a drink when he collapsed.

He was rushed to intensive care and put under sedation for the entire first week of his month-long stay in hospital.

Whibley said that doctors have told him he will die if he has one more drink.

The singer, who was pictured yesterday looking frail on a trip out in Los Angeles with in his fiance Jocelyn Aguilar, has vowed to continue with his "passion" for music.

He said he has "a few ideas for new songs" and is looking forward to touring again.
