Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour hit the UK with a bang last night, with swearing, skimpy outfits and suggestive dance moves leaving some parents with a bad taste in their mouths.

Cyrus set the tone for show from the moment she made her entrance at London's O2 Area by sliding down a "tongue" which came out from an image of her face at the back of the stage.

Wearing a silver leotard with a pair of glittering lips attached, Cyrus alluded to her recent ill-health by yelling, "I'm not going down without a mother f*g fight!"

The former Disney star launched into tour opener SMS (Bangerz) accompanied by a pantomime horse, a little person and a troupe of dancers.

Although her spirited performance - complete with "twerking" - obviously impressed her young fans, it seems it did not go down as well with some of their accompanying parents.

One father, who was at the gig with his 15-year-old son, said, "It would be different if it was a good show. But it's not even a good show."

"She's lost the plot," another complained.

But one parent who did not complain was Lily Allen, writing on Twitter:

Child protection expert Mark Williams-Thomas tweeted:

The tour continues in Leeds on Saturday, followed by Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham.
