May bank holiday weekend weather: Cloud and rain in the north, dry and bright in the south
April 2014 was the third warmest on record, but this May bank holiday is getting off to a chilly start, with widespread frost expected this evening.
The rest of the weekend is set to see outbreaks of cloud and rain in the north, while conditions are expected to be dry and bright in the south.
Temperatures are set to be disappointing for this time of year, with highs of between 12 and 14 degrees expected.
High pressure on Sunday into Monday will make way for unsettled, blustery conditions, although most of the south will remain dry.
