Determined to demonstrate their claims at the UN peace talks that the regime's fight is a battle against terrorism, the Syrian authorities opened up the airport at Aleppo - Syria's biggest city - and flew in a group of reporters.

The only British team on board was from ITV News.

Correspondent Dan Rivers was allowed to film the fighting from the regime's side of the conflict in Aleppo.

"In some parts of the city you'd hardly know there was a war on," he reported.

But he also saw the roof of the governor's office littered with snipers just 200m away from rebel positions.

The governor said rebels control territory stretching from Aleppo all the way to the Turkish border.
