Three former US presidents paid their respects to Nelson Mandela at a memorial service yesterday, and it seems they were all keen to display some of the togetherness Mandela was known for as they all travelled to the ceremony on the same plane.

The two Democrats and one Republican shared a ride on Air Force One as they made their way to South Africa.

The Obamas, the Clintons and George W Bush and his wife look to have enjoyed their long flight together, several of the official White House pictures from the trip show them laughing and joking.
