Cameron and Hollande defend Syrian rebel plans
David Cameron and French President Francois Hollande have failed to convince other EU leaders to overturn Europe’s ban on arming Syrian rebels. Germany's Angela Merkel said that arming rebels would risk "further fuelling the conflict".
Francois Hollande said he had received guarantees from Syrian rebels that any arms supplied in future would not end up in the wrong hands.
