Are you affected by white goods company Beko's safety notices?

ITV News understands nearly 138,000 products manufactured by Beko are a safety risk.

The white goods company released safety advice for three of their products, they are:

6kg and 7kg condenser tumble dryers manufactured from May to October 2012

  • What is wrong with the product and how serious is it?

Beko said in their safety notice that they have been made aware of several incidents where an electrical component has failed and overheated - leading to a potential fire risk.

The white goods company said they believe the "risk of failure is low" and have offered a free in-home modification to remove the component.

  • What do I need to do if I own this product?

Firstly, stop using the product immediately and unplug it from the wall socket.

Check the model and serial number on your tumble dryer. If they match the numbers in the picture below call 0800 917 2018 or for those in Eire call 1800 25 29 25.

  • What is wrong with the product and how serious is it?

Beko are aware of a "very small number of incidents" where the defrost timer - which is located at the back of the fridge - has failed, overheated and caused a potential fire risk.

  • What do I need to do if I own this product?

Firstly, stop using the product immediately and unplug it from the wall socket.

The frost-free fridge freezers affected were manufactured between January 2000 and October 2006, which means the serial numbers will begin with either 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 or 06. The serial number can be found on a label inside the fridge.

Gas cookers manufactured before 2009

  • What is wrong with the product and how serious is it?

Beko, Leisure and Flavel cookers with a separate oven and grill can pose a "serious risk" to your health if they are not operated in accordance with the instructions.

The white goods company said: "These appliances are designed for cooking purposes only and must NOT be used as a space heater, or for any other purpose."

  • What do I need to do if I own this product?

Check to see if you own a Beko, Leisure or Flavel gas cooker with one of the model numbers below.

Make sure the grill door is always open when the grill burner is on. If the grill is operated with the door shut, the product can cause "extremely dangerous levels of carbon monoxide."
